Returns & Exchanges Policy

Koch’s Hardware and Foley Hardware Company are happy to be your choice in the hardware industry. If you find a product does not suit your needs, we’re happy do everything we can to refund or exchange it for one that does! If you have questions about our policy, please ask to speak with a Store Manager.

Guidelines

Returns must be accompanied by the original receipt and be able to be tracked through our point-of-sale system to the original purchase within 30 days.

Special Orders may not be eligible for return or may require a restocking fee.

Some products require special handling if defective and are not eligible for an over-the-counter exchange or refund. Such items include, but are not limited to, gas filled equipment such as power equipment, major appliances, power tools and hot water heater.

Koch’s Hardware and Foley Hardware Company are not responsible for the application or installation of a defective product, however the defective product may still be eligible for a refund or exchange.

Assembly and delivery are not eligible for refund.

Koch’s Hardware and Foley Hardware Company reserve the right to limit or refuse any returns and exchanges.

Exchanges without an Original Receipt

If we are able to track your purchase through our point-of-sale system or your Hank’s Rewards account and the purchase was made within 30 days, we will refund your purchase to the original form of payment as listed below.

Refunds or Exchanges with an Original Receipt

We will refund cash for cash purchases.

We will return your check to you for a check purchase made on the same day. If the refund is requested after the day of original sale, we will refund cash for a check purchase after a waiting period of 14 working days, and only if there are no outstanding checks with any of our stores.

We will refund credit card purchases back to the original credit card; card must be presented at time of refund request.

Items originally purchased with a gift card will be refunded with a gift card.

We will refund charge account purchases back to the same charge account used for the purchase.

Large cash and cash-equivalent refunds will require management approval.

Refunds or exchanges for Live Goods

Koch’s Hardware and Foley Hardware Company warranties (full-price and up to 25% off) trees and shrubs for one (1) year from date of purchase. Perennials, annuals, veggies/herbs, house plants, bud & bloom hydrangeas, sale items, and specialty plants are not warrantied. A receipt, the original tag and the plant must accompany all returns. A replacement plant of equal value that is in stock in our garden center will be issued.

We do not warranty against lack of proper care as defined by normal horticultural standards, negligence on part of the owner, animal and pest damage, winterkill, and/or acts of God.
We do not warranty plants that are purchased on-sale or at a discounted rate.

If you notice that your plant appears to be doing poorly, and it has been 30 days or more since you planted it in the ground, give us a call! We are here to help diagnose any issues and get your plant on the right track for a long and happy life.

Plants are living material, and as such, do require tending in the first stages of life in the ground in order to grow into happy, healthy plants. The UMN Extension Service offers some excellent guides:
